I was going to blog about my delicious, delectable rum cake from Shannon.
It didn't turn out.
I figured out, that even though I greased my pan, it didn't bake long enough. My oven/bakeware has a tendency to under-bake things. I should have known better. I should have tested it with a toothpick. But I didn't. So instead I have a pile of what should be rum cake.
(here's the cake, in the pan, looking pretty good! Until it was turned over...)
It tastes great, but it does not look good. I guess I can salvage it, pre-cut it and bring it to the New Year's party already plated. That will work. But I'm disappointed because I was looking forward to it. To a perfect rum cake.
That's life.
