Monopoly

Bill and I played Simpsons Tree House of Horrors Monopoly. We started our game Monday night, and continued it last night. First of all, it is not his favorite game because he loses with startling regularity. I like it, but I like playing a shortened version. This game is fun, the pieces glow in the dark! I was Alien Maggie and Bill was Count Burns.

Well, let's just say that when it came down to it, Bill won. He beat me. He had the "Park Place" and "Boardwalk" squares, and built "hotels" on them as soon as he could. Rent was $2000. I got hammered. Eventually, with all his expensive properties, I lost when I couldn't pay the $1400 rent. :( But we both had a good time!

  1. Wow, this game sounds like a lot more fun than the regular Monopoly. I have to check if I can buy it here too. Andi is a big Simpsons fan.

How is the melting of your driveway coming? :-) If it's not melting, you could sell tickets for people to skate on it.

    Good night!

PS: Wow, this really seems to become a "you and I" blog. Where is everyone?

  2. Oh, one more news really quick: It seems like we're already moving in April because we've found someone to take over our appartment. I'm excited that it's going so fast but also terrified that I won't have enough time. Plus I'm sad to give up this place because it's practically where Chiara "grew up" first. Am I thinking weirdly? Hey, I'm a woman! :-)

  3. Hey Connie,

If you can't find the Monopoly there, let me know, Bill can get it here for real cheap (it went 75% off Monday, that's why we own it!)

A HUGE sheet of ice fell off the roof, crashing onto the driveway. It scared me! I'll have to take a picture of the chunks of ice. It sounded like half the roof was falling off.

We're not the only ones here. We're just the only ones writing to each other! :)

  4. April? That is fast! Are you going to be able to paint the new apartment? No, you're not thinking weirdly. It makes sense that you have memories there!

  5. Hi Em,

Sorry I haven't been writing, Chiara has been keeping me really busy - she doesn't want to play by herself and her teeth are bothering her I guess.

How's the weather? Any more snow?

Yes, we'll be moving on April 14/15 and I will paint the new appartment before that. It is now painted white and I will only paint selected walls. The huge break-through is that we don't have to paint our old appartment. You're usually obliged to do that when you move out. But the person who will take over the appartment will also take over our old, ugly and small kitchen which I was afraid we'd have to throw out and I proposed to her that she can have the kitchen but have to paint the walls herself. And she agreed! So I virtually killed two birds with one stone! I'm so smart! :-)

How was your weekend? By the way, I really liked that picture of the pipes hanging you took at Meyers Garden (?). It's cool.

Ok, have to work, talk to you soon.

  6. O.k., so it was literally the first time I ever won monopoly. I guess the power of Homer saw me through.
Hey, Connie, I love listening to the foreign language overdubs of the Simpsons on the DVDs. I think Spanish is my favorite...it's just so different! Good luck with the move. It's always stressful.
