"Closed"

Hello world! My own little world. Where no one responds. I'm sad. We had such a good time that first week. What happened bloggers? Where are my friends? Where are the crazy comments?

Hey, there's no snow falling here! For now :)

How was everyone's V-day? I know Sami and I are sad, we received word that the school (which the after school program was made for) is closing. That's very sad for the students and teachers. How can that happen? A school is closing. Not only is this America but it's the 21st century and we as people haven't figured out how important education is? One of my favorite sayings is, "you learn something new every day." So how can a school close? We can put astronauts in space, but we can't keep a school open. If that trend continues, there won't be many astronauts. It is very sad. Where does education stand?

  1. Hi Em, you are right, it is pretty empty here. I felt a little stupid posting by myself only but I don't want to leave you sad so here I am... :-)

It already feels like Spring here, the birds are singing.

You are right, it is stupid to close a school. It happens here too because there are not that many kids anymore and it's too expensive. Which seems to be the favorite reason for everything that is being closed down or reduced.

We didn't do anything for Valentine's Day. It's not that big here and I think it's just way too commercialized. I don't need a special day to be nice to people or give them presents. Did you get anything?

  2. I made Bill mini frittatas (it's like an omelette) and he gave me two c.d.'s which are really for both of us. Nora Jones "not too late" and the Fray "How To Save A Life". I kind of knew I was getting the c.d.'s, but I didn't know that he got me a new "case" for them. He bought me an ipod nano. It is so cute! :) I'm listening to it right now. It's awesome. However, his present was the new Mac software so we could connect the ipod to our itunes. Our software was a little old. We usually don't do presents, not anything like this. I would have been happy with a card (don't tell Bill) ;)

  3. I'm just glad that you like to post blogs! :)

I can't believe your birds are out singing. It's definitely winter here.

I wish there was a way to keep schools open. That is their excuse for closing down, their enrollment has been down.

  5. Hi Em,

Wow, that is a BIG present for V'Day! :-)

I saw the snow chaos on the news, it looked pretty bad. I'm having breakfast right now and the sun is shining (for the first time in a million years or so it seams).

I think this is a cool way to keep in touch and let each other know what's going on without writing a lot at a time.

My in-laws will be here over the weekend and I have to clean and shop today. :-/ This will not keep me from checking out your blog today....

    Have a great day!

  6. I like Norah Jones too, I'm thinking about getting a CD. Which one would you recommend (which one has the songs I know from the radio?)?

  7. Hmmm, I like all three of Nora Jones. I'm going to look to see which one has the songs, but right now itunes is analyzing 2699 songs....? interesting.

  8. Okay, it finished. I think you want "Come Away With Me", that album has a lot of songs on it that they played on the radio here. Her new one is good too. What does anyone else think? (if there's anyone else reading our posts) :)
