See

See what I've been making in the kitchen?
First, I nuked some Peeps in the microwave. Then I used them to make krispy treats which I'm calling...
...Krispy Peep Treats. I layered them in a pan. You can see the layers in the photo above. Once they had cooled, I cut them into bars and put them in baskets with dyed coconut and not nuked Peeps.
I also baked Emily's Best-Ever Oatmeal cookies. I'm known for them. By five people.

I also made my Famous Brownies, aka Amazing Brownies. The same five people call them by their proper names.

I also made seven layer bars. Which, if I count, are really only six layers. I guess they're technically seven layers because you melt the butter and pour the graham crackers over that. See how that works?

These are all things for the Youth Auction being held at our church tomorrow. I also made a coupon book, but I forgot to take a picture.

Tomorrow is also the Palm Sunday Brunch. There will be pancakes, sausage, and eggs. Yum! I hope to see you there.

Pi-day delayed...

I'm making this pie. It's to die for yummy.

I thought I blogged about Pi-day (March 14 aka 3.14)... but I did not.

Oh the posts I've written in my head... I wish they had made it into my blog.

Anyway, I'm making that pie. If you didn't click the link, you must.

And, just so you know, you can "reverse" it and use nutella instead of peanut butter and nutter butters instead of oreos. It is equally amazing. Bill prefers the latter. I actually prefer the original. But put a piece of both in front of me and I will devour them equally.

Go forth and share the pie.

too much dessert?

Is there really such a thing? I'm fighting temptation to go in the kitchen and have some of the strawberry shortcake I have leftover from the weekend.

But I already had two desserts at the church meeting (if there's anything United Methodists know, it's how to eat). I had a chocolate cake/brownie thing and a cookie.

Normally two desserts would be enough. Right?

Yes. *big sigh*

I'm going to resist temptation. But tomorrow, I'm having strawberry shortcake.

still "need" to do things

What a busy week! Monday night was the concert (remember? I may have mentioned it), last night I had Bible study, tonight I finished my crochet project (pictures will be taken in natural light tomorrow), and tomorrow night I have a committee meeting. Friday night I'll be at my parents preparing for the baby shower on Saturday that we're throwing for my sister.

I did manage to bake a cake for Gary, his last one of the twelve desserts!!

I have yet to clean.

My office is a disaster.

Bill walked in today, looked around and said, "it's a good thing we moved that printer off your desk so you could have more room..."

More room to spread out. It's that Flat Surface Syndrome. *sigh* I can't help it.

I have a lot going on right now.

I'm organizing our Installation Banquet for Quota (that's in April).

I was on the nominating Committee (that's done, now I just need to file those papers) for Quota.

I need to register for Annual Conference for church.

I need to go through the stack of magazines and recycle them after cutting out the recipes I want to try.

I'm looking for a new job.

Did I mention Skylar is coming to visit for Spring Break?

And I've stayed up way too late the last two nights, so good night!

cards, cinnamon pumpkin rolls and snoring cats...

As I work on our Christmas cards, I'm not only listening to the radio, but also the dulcet tones of our snoring kitty.

Juliette is just so sweet. I love that she snores (even if it has woken us up in the middle of the night) and that she likes to be near me.

Last night was our Quota holiday party. We are asked to bring either an appetizer or dessert based on the first letter of our last name. Being a "U" that typically means dessert. I made these.

Cinnamon Pumpkin swirls. They were a big hit and they are delicious. It's the first time I'd ever made a rolled cake. Other than the filling being a little too runny, once it set in the fridge, it was perfect!

Could you choose?

I am making dessert for our Easter dinner with my parents. That sounds easy enough. I love dessert. I love baking. I love trying new things. I had found a dessert that is a chocolate swirl cheesecake. That sounds yummy. I've been wanting to try it for awhile. Here's my chance! But I just stumbled upon this delectable looking dessert and now I'm torn! What to do?

This is a Truffle Tart with Raspberries. Normally, I'm not a fruit in my dessert kind of gal. But I can get on board with the raspberries. The whole thing looks so delicious! I am in a dilemma. What to do? Typically I choose something because maybe I already have half of the ingredients laying around. Not this time. I have parts of both and would need to buy some for each. This is not helping!!!

I love dessert. I love chocolate.
